Mercedes-AMG GLC became the fastest SUV Nurburgring (video)

Mercedes-AMG GLC 63 4Matic S+ officially became the fastest serial SUV “Nordschleife” Nurburgring. Engineer AMG Marcus Hofbauer on the first attempt improved the previous record holder for the Alfa Romeo Stelvio, and drove the track in 7 minutes 49,369 seconds.

The previous record “Northern loop” for serial crossover 7 minutes 51.7 seconds — belonged to the Stelvio Alfa Romeo Quadrifoglio. Model drove the route more than seven seconds faster than its predecessor — Porsche Cayenne Turbo S (7 minutes 59,74 seconds). This Italian crossover was faster than the BMW M4, Lamborghini Gallardo and Porsche Panamera Turbo S.

Charged Stelvio Quadrifoglio is equipped with a 2.9-liter twin-turbo V6 engine, outstanding 510 horsepower and 600 Nm of torque. The unit is combined with vosmidiapazonnoy automatic transmission ZF. From a place to hundred kilometers per hour, the crossover accelerates in 3.8 seconds and its maximum speed is 285 kilometers per hour.

Under the hood Mercedes-AMG GLC 63 4Matic S+ employs a 4.0-liter twin-turbo “eight” power of 510 forces and 700 Nm of torque.
