The company Peugeot has revealed information about the “charged” hybrid public debut which will take place at the Geneva motor show early next month. They found the concept of the Peugeot 508 Sport Engineered, constructed on the basis of the serial Hybrid and 508 is equipped with a power unit of equivalent 406-horsepower engine.
Three-engine system 508 Peugeot Sport Engineered consists of a 200-horsepower gasoline engine PureTech and 1.6 two electric motors: power unit on the front axle is 112, the rear — 203 horsepower. From zero to “hundreds” hybrid accelerates in 4.3 seconds, from 80 to 120 in 2.5, and from 80 to 180 kilometers per hour in 9.3 seconds. Maximum speed — 250 kilometers per hour.
Thanks to the traction battery with a capacity of 11.8 per kilowatt-hour concept can drive on electric up to 50 kilometers on the WLTP cycle. In sports mode the control electronics of the electric motors and combustion engine work together at speeds of up to 190 kilometers per hour.
From the regular liftback 508 Peugeot Sport different Engineered lowered suspension and extended gauge — 24 mm front and 12 rear, and retuned the steering. The car is equipped with enhanced brakes with 380 mm front discs and fixed calipers. Tires — Michelin Pilot Sport 4S dimension 245/35 R20.
For improved aerodynamics in the front bumper of Peugeot 508 Sport Engineered appeared enlarged air intakes and slotted floating blades that guide the air flow from the radiator. In addition, the front and side skirts has a small wings, the winglets, and the rear is a new diffuser.
Salon “charged” the hybrid is nearly the same as the serial 508-rd: front panel i-Cockpit, “tidy” at eye level of the driver, an asymmetric wheel, which the concept trimmed in Alcantara and garnished with carbon fiber, sensitive to touch bent joystick transmission. The only difference is in colours and materials as well as new comfortable seats with a combined leather and Alcantara.
